Since the beginning of human existence, interaction amongst people has played an essential role in basic livelihood whether it is for survival, comfort, or pleasure. What if I told you that all of that is about to change or already has… The Death of Human Interaction takes a satirical look at the way technology is influencing the global culture of basic human interaction. It is full of sound observations and colored with several personal stories from the author, many of which are embarrassing. If you’ve ever been cut off mid-sentence by a friend who values sending a text message over hearing out your point, this book is for you. If you’ve ever been in a meeting and driven mad by everyone playing with their computers, tablets, and smart phones as opposed to participating in the discussion at hand, please take a read. If you are still baffled by the role and power of social media in today’s world… Well you get the point. The author’s wife calls it “an instant classic” and suggests that Aaron is a “modern-day Thomas Paine.”

Aaron Panzer's "The Death of Human Interaction" is a hilarious book filled with astute observations about a serious topic - the fact that, increasingly, human interaction is being mediated and filtered by technology, so that it no longer resembles human interaction at all.As the author states in the title, he's a "non-expert" in both Sociology and Psychology, but that made me lean into the book even more. It's a good indication of a writing style that is engaging, informing and entertaining at the same time. A pleasure to read, and it even got me thinking about my own digital behavior. It's worth your time...

The Death of Human Interaction A Sociologist and Psychologist Perspective from a NonExpert in Both Areas Aaron Panzer 9780615978703 Books Reviews
What an amazingly hilarious and well written book. I couldn't put it down. Do yourself a favor and put down your iphone, tablet, blackberry, or droid and read this book. It could be a wake up call....
Freshly entertaining. Aaron's witty perspective on this seemingly paradoxical divergence is one that I also share. I could not help but say to myself "damn straight" as I read through the book. It's like a freshly blended ginger juice.
Reading this book changed my life. Before I was a no-good, gambling, womanizing, drug-crazed wild man barely able to make rent. Now I'm all of those things but homeless because of the ten dollars I spent on this book. At least I have this beautifully written text to keep me entertained while I look for a suitable bridge to live under. Thanks Aaron Panzer...thanks.
